serendipity
Part of this process is serendipity: allowing for chance finds, and accepting that what is found is not necessarily what was being looked for.

Welcome,
I’m pleased you found your way here.
My name is Helen Zyka, a trainee in psychotherapy with focus in Transactional Analysis modality.
Let me tell you a little bit more about my little piece of the virtual space called Towards Serendipity.
I believe that therapy is often the journey into the unknown, which makes it a bit of a serendipitous process itself. Of course, it is a space to heal, reflect, and build, but what I often experience with clients are those discoveries we make in the therapy room - when we are grounded enough to slow down, listen to ourselves deeply and curiously, and then the unexpected truth comes to the surface. These moments of discovery bring clarity, freedom, relief, understanding, and they almost appear by chance - but they change everything in a bittersweet beauty kinda way.
For me, towards serendipity means walking alongside you in the moments of pain, clarity and happiness. It means, that believing in struggle, something meaningful can be discovered. Its about choosing self-compassion, honesty, courage and power to discard self-limiting beliefs.
My approach
I offer space which is judgment free, welcoming, reflective, gentle yet challenging. My role is to be a kind observer of your journey alongside you. Sometimes the therapy hills might turn out to be steep, sometimes soft, but always moving. Together, we will create a space where we can pause or go ahead curiously to discover something new.
I work with themes such as anxiety, depression, attachment, identity, self-esteem, sexuality, trauma, existential questions. Specifically, I hold care for clients navigating intersectionality - expat identities, blended cultures, LGBTQ+, questions of belonging, workplace anxiety
My practice is shaped by Transactional Analysis, which I often utilise as a tool, but I'm not limited to one approach. I particularly enjoy bringing science, such as neuroscience, polyvagal theory or creativity and spontaneity in the form of exercises. Ultimately, finding what feels alive, aligned, possible and true for you.
Myself
Putting the theory aside, I deeply care about the therapy process and therapeutic relationship. And because I’m so excited to see what we will create in the therapy room for you, it is just fair to introduce my human side. I'm fascinated with nature wonders, however small or big they are. I love autumn changing colors and I love laugh. Humor belongs in both my personal and therapeutic identity as it belongs next to the healing as much as compassion does.
So, be open for your essence to be guided through awareness, growth and becoming. I cannot wait to see what discoveries are waiting for you!
